Preparation for the holiday season

The holiday season may still seem far off but here at HSP we are already preparing for our busiest and most exciting time of the year! Throughout the fall, we will be getting ready for our Christmas Offering. On a monthly basis, HSP distributes 6 tons of food to seniors in need but in December, we distribute over 55,000 lbs. of groceries which means there is an increased need for food. We rely on donations from community members in the form of food drives to continue making our Christmas Offering distributions to impoverished families possible. Holding a food drive is a great project for church groups, schools and other community groups. It is also a great way for kids to give back. Some of the food that is most needed at this time is tuna, cereal, peanut butter and jelly and canned fruits and vegetables.
